The Rise of Commodore

Commodore Retro Design

Commodore was founded in the 1950s and started with typewriters and calculators before entering the personal computing market. The PET was its first computer, but the VIC-20 and C64 truly changed the game. The C64 alone sold over 17 million units worldwide.

In the 1980s, Commodore brought computing into homes and schools with affordable pricing and software. It competed fiercely with Apple and IBM, often undercutting them on cost with similar or better capabilities.
